So lingrimm gifted me a lovely creature design out of the blue some number of months back. I was drawing something fuzzy today and the head shape reminded me of their design so I ended up jumping over to play with the critter they’d given me.
I only really messed with the wings. These days I usually start with gestures and work from there but I went backwards this time (happens when there are no deadlines to meet, my process is pretty flexible so no big deal). All fun stuff, with the shaded gestures at the end being what I’m looking for.
I’ll mess with it more later and then figure out if there’s a place for him somewhere in my world. Apologies for the sub-par gradient-ing in general this week, my laptop can’t handle large files or run more than one program when PS is running, and the screen is tiny so doing anything on it is a pain.

As I mentioned on twitter, I decided to redo some old art as tonight’s warm-up drawing! I’m sure you’ll all be very disappointed that I didn’t max out her ridiculous paudlrons, but I really wanted to see if I could translate such an irrational design into something plausible. Didn’t feel like adding the sketch to the set, but you can look at it here if you want.
I was really into Slayers at the time the original was drawn. Good old 90’s anime.
